An wonderful summer: I was in Antarktida as a media man to cover the summer camps of United States Antarctic Program. Snow and sky. Nothing else. Just two colours: white and blue. Short days and long nights. And mainly the absolute purity. In your head, under your feet and everywhere around. A non-sharable experience. Real and imaginable. Wherever you look there is just an endless white desert. The silence is great, the vastness is even greater.
A funny thing you can do there except watching the wilderness and especially penguins, is to throw hot water in the air. Take a flask and fill it with boiling water. Go outside and throw water in the air. It instantly vaporizes and makes a cloud of steam and small pieces of ice streaking down like fireworks.
